16th October 2006

London, UK – October 16th, 2006 - Fluency Voice Technology, (www.fluencyvoice.com) the speech recognition application company, has today announced that it has  been recognised by the Sunday Times Microsoft Tech Track 100, sponsored by PricewaterhouseCoopers, as one of Britain’s fastest growing technology companies. The Sunday Times Microsoft 2006 Tech Track 100 league table ranks Britain’s fastest growing, unquoted technology companies, based on sales growth from 2003 to 2005.  Fluency Voice was placed 70th with a 56% annual sales growth over the period.

The sixth annual Tech Track 100 league table was published in The Sunday Times on 24th September 2006, with title sponsors Microsoft, and main sponsors PricewaterhouseCoopers. Companies are ranked according to their annual growth rate in sales between 2003 and 2005. Companies had to be unquoted, independent and registered in Britain. The league table adopts the London Stock Exchange’s techMARK definition of what constitutes a technology company.

"We are delighted to be ranked alongside Britain’s technology elite; companies that are leading the way with a vision and determination to deliver a diverse range of global products and services that make a difference, ” said Philip Padfield, CEO of Fluency Voice.  “Our success is testament to our vision, our commitment to quality technology and a focus on customer service and we have been fortunate to attract some significant clients along the way who pride themselves on blazing the innovation trail and have worked with us to make speech technology their channel of choice.”

The award further enhances a very buoyant year for Fluency who has continued to boost its client list with a number of notable new customer wins including Arcadia Group; the UK’s leading specialist public and voluntary sector outsourced contact centre, bss, and the insurance company Outright.  Existing household named clients including Travelodge, EDF Energy and Standard Life Bank continue to extend their use of Fluency speech applications whilst Sutton & East Surrey Water scooped first prize at the Information Age Effective Use of IT awards, for their Virtual Call Centre. This year has also seen the publishing of Fluency’s survey into consumers’ perceptions of speech.  This survey, now in its third year, is recognised as the premier benchmark of speech recognition usage in the UK.  This years survey results have just been published and are attracting significant interest from call centre managers, customer service directors and publishers representing many of the vertical markets researched in the survey.

“We would like to express our sincerest thanks to the Sunday Times, Microsoft and PricewaterhouseCoopers for sponsoring the Tech Track 100 league table and we are delighted that our achievements have been recognised for this prestigious award,” Philip concluded.
